Loop 36
Located in the vibrant community of Altadore, Loop 36 is a residential development designed to provide diverse housing options to contribute to the growth and culture of Altadore, a community that is quickly becoming a major hub for urban activity. The development was divided into two low scale multi-residential buildings in order to reduce the perceived mass and to frame space for a large central common amenity area.
The project contains a mix of units types, aimed at accommodating a diverse range of Calgarians. The 22-dwelling development includes a mix of basement and at grade micro units, at grade flats and above grade townhouses. 11 covered carport parking stalls are provided for each at Grade flat and each above grade unit. 11 individual, secure, and enclosed mobility storage units are provided for all micro units. The site is also located 2 blocks from 33rd avenue which is a prominent transportation corridor, and the site is also 2 blocks away from Kiwanis Park.
The building design is articulated to help break down the street facing facades to create a comfortable pedestrian scale. Good quality materials such as brick and corrugated metal panel are used at and above grade to create texture, visual interest and to ensure durability.
