This 8 unit multi-family complex is located in the desirable inner-city neighborhood of Parkhill. Its proximity to downtown Calgary makes it a highly marketable location for densification. The redevelopment of the area is progressing, but its historically low density creates a challenge when integrating higher density development. This development takes advantage of the significant back-to-front slope of the site, allowing for a reduced mass at the street to support its integration with the existing neighbourhood fabric. The building is organized around a western courtyard that both provides buffer to the neighbouring properties as well as serving as the central public gathering space for the residents.
