NE False Creek Bridge
Vancouver, British Columbia
CLIENT – CITY OF VANCOUVER
DATE – 2014 – 2015
PHASE – SCHEMATIC DESIGN
The Dunsmuir Viaduct in False Creek, Vancouver is an underutilized highway severing important connections in the city. This project proposed the removal of the viaduct and the addition of an “active bridge” to link essential nodes in the core.
Through intensive site analysis, user volume studies, planning review and historic research, the active bridge looks to invigorate North East False Creek. The proposed design provides important links for pedestrians and cyclists to the entertainment district and seawall pathways while creating new and safe opportunities for future intensification and connections.
